Rainbows In The Forest

I see rainbows in the forest
In my sleeping dreams
Glittering like jeweled arches
So many of them here and there

But I am especially intrigued
By the row of rainbow arches
Lined up like a path over there
Under the canopy of trees

They seem so bedazzling in their color
That I’m anxious to capture their images
But as I try to find a good angle
It was over…a fleeting image of beauty

Now I wonder
What mysteries I might have seen
Had I been able to draw closer
And walked through those arches

Might it have been a path
To some fascinating place
Even more beautiful
And full of dreams?

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious” Albert Einstein

“Whoso regardeth dreams is like him that catcheth at a shadow, and followeth after the wind.” --Apocrypha, Ecclesiasticus 34:2

“Some say that gleams of a remoter world visit the soul in sleep.” Percy Bysshe Shelley
